Our Weekend

I have had a lovely weekend, we went up to Sydney yesterday, we stopped in at the Westmead Childrens Hospital to see Gem, Sam and Natalie.

They have been in hospital for 10 weeks now, Natalie is still very, very ill and is back in ICU. They confirmed during the week that she will need a bone marrow transplant however at the moment she is too ill. So for now they are praying that the chemo will work so that she recovers enough to have the transplant.

We got to spend an hour with them yesterday, despite being so ill she was very, very cute and was fascinated with Daniel. I asked Gem if I could post a picture of her on my blog and she said yes.


This photo was obviously taken at Easter, apparently she got lots and lots of Easter eggs!!! It was lovely to catch up with them all, Gem and Sam seem to be coping really well.

After the hospital we went into Paramatta and spent a lovely evening at the Courtyard Marriot Hotel, we had dinner Irish Pub across the road and then I was in bed and asleep by 8pm!! Neither of us slept very well though as the bed and pillows were really uncomforatable, although I did discover when Daniel got up this morning that sleeping in the middle of the bed was quite comfy, about 12 hours too late though!!

After a yummy full buffet breakfast we headed home and stopped in Berrima on the way, we went to the nice jam/sauce shop and the lolly shop and my favourite pottery shop! We found some really cool candle sticks in the pottery shop, see Daniel's tweet for details.

Then tonight we had dinner with Kat, Jason, Aunty Barb and Uncle Gary we're not long home. Kat and Jason are leaving for Harvey Bay next week so it was a catch up/farewell dinner. We also had a look through their wedding photos, there were some lovely pictures and the scenery was spectacular.

So that was our weekend, I of course have another day off tomorrow but Daniel is back at work. I'm planning on heading down to Mum and Dad's at some point but that is about it.
